Michael Barker is a Unison rep and support worker at a Leicester school. In 2015 he stood as the parliamentary candidate for the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) where he challenged Labour incumbent Keith Vaz. In his spare time Michael writes about local and international issues for a variety of publications. He is a member of the Socialist Party.
Michael is the author of Under the Mask of Philanthropy (February 2017).
His previous books are Fighting For Our Future: Ongoing Struggles Against Big Business and New Labour (2016) and Letters to Mercury: The Socialist Fightback in Leicester (2015). Michael writes in a personal capacity.
